includes writing, editing, and producing product and system-level
manuals, technical sales literature and advertisements, technical
textbooks, and software documentation. I have training in programming
using FORTRAN and C compilers, BASIC interpreted
language, and with several assembly and script languages, including
HTML. I use several line editors including Brief and EDLIN,
word processing packages including Word Perfect and Word,
publishing packages including Pagemaker, Framemaker,
Ventura, and Interleaf, and Help construction tools
including HDK and RoboHELP. I also produce on-line
documentation using FrontPage.
My skills include instruction, problem solving, time management
and evaluation, project personnel administration, and productivity
evaluation. I also do project planning and project budgeting.
WORK HISTORY:
Rush Creek Research Company, Corcoran MN Feb 85 to present
Through this contracting firm, I have written, edited, and produced
product documentation of all types, including material to government
specifications (NCSC TNI, DoD TCSEC, USAF, MilSpec 2167 and 2167A,
and CanMilSpec). I performed my tasks at the client site or on a
contractor-provided system. If required, I assembled or worked as
part of a team to produce the desired documentation.
Companies for which I produced hardware and software documents include:
- Cardiac Pacemaker, Inc (now Guidant): Software specification
for the physician interface on the Ventak AV pacemaker, including
the graphic user interface (GUI) usability review.
- Chen Systems: Editing and revising the installation manual
for a multiprocessor LAN server.
- CIMCORP (now Swisslog Robotics):
Installation, diagnostic, maintenance, and operation
documents, including the GUI review, for the two largest gantry
robots in the world. This project included documentation for both
normal operation and disaster recovery for a system that uses nuclear
materials. These documents met US Air Force documentation criteria.
- Cray Research Inc. (now Cray Inc.):
One of six writers creating the set of reference manuals for a Federal
system security evaluation of the internal design of the Cray UNICOS
Operating System. I determined and documented the security-significant
system command processes and system calls and performed editor peer-reviews.
This documentation met requirements of the Department of Defense
Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria and National Security
Center Trusted Network Interpretation.
- DataCard International: Wrote and illustrated
service manuals,
operator's guides, programmer's references, software installation
and user guides, and on-line help files. Team resource regarding
GUI design and usability issues. Many projects included providing
segments of larger documentation sets.
- IMI Cornelius, Inc.: Hardware product documents in Pagemaker
and Framemaker.
- Rosemount Engineering, Inc.: Software test procedures to
MilSpec requirements.
- Target Corporation: Wrote on-line Help files for CIRS and
CIMS internal AP applications.
- For all clients: Revision or initiation of trademark and
copyright legal descriptions.
